Default Regarding tube bumpers...

I don't know if this is the right section, so sorry in advance. This feels like it should be in the cherokee discussion. I was wondering if some tube bumpers would not pass inspection? I'm afraid that it might pose a problem. You guys have any answers? Was also wondering if you guys ever had to get your xj or any vehicle inspected and had something wrong with it.

Thanks.

Edit: Yeah so, I'm 99% sure this is the wrong section. Feel free to move this if need be.

Nah, I think you're in the right section, what state are you trying pass inspection in?

Connecticut. I've also put on these really crappy custom flares. Then I'd likely remove em after, I'm so hardcore.

Well from what google tells me as long as you have "a shock absorbing device" (quoting a poster on another forum) and a bumper below 30 inches you're okay. It might depend on where the tube is, how much it covers, and how the inspector is feeling. I know some places have a free inspection re-test if you fail it the first time, still got your stockers?

Unless you are bringing a vehicle in from out of state and trying to register it there is no inspection. Just pass emissions (they dont care what your car looks like) and get it titled/registered and your good to go.

I know people driving full size chevys that have bumpers way over 30" and they have no problems.

Hell i have driven my Grand Am around with the bumper and bumper skin removed and the cops said nothing.

There may be literally almost nowhere you can legally wheel but the cops dont really care what you do to your car as long as it has fenders and at least a rear plate with a light on it.

P.S. nice looking Cherokee. Im also in Middlesex county and my front axle/suspension is from a 98.

Oh that's really good then. I'm just buying another Xj because my current one is down for the count, with reasons I shouldn't get into. But, that's pretty awesome stuff, thanks for the help.
