Default Red fluid from front end leak

Came out today ! It just snowed and I noticed sone blood red fluid on the snow ! Not too much just some drops ! Any ideas what this is

If it's leaking from the front then I'd suspect that it's leaking from the quick connect fitting under the front of the oil pan or in the lower drivers side corner of the radiator.

It could also be power steering fluid. It would also be leaking from the same general area. The steering gear box sector shaft seal or fittings on the top of the box.

Either way it's going to require that you get under there and pinpoint the leak.

It is most likely transmission fluid, lowrange2's suggestion of cooling system fittings is a good one. However I would ALSO check other of your fluids to make sure some joker hasn't used the same color everywhere. Some brilliant people thought that red windshield washer fluid and red coolant were a great idea... pop the caps and make sure they aren't the red kind too!

(Also, if this is a monthly occurrence, it is normal. Your XJ may experience trouble maintaining speed, will shift erratically, but will definitely be easier to get started)
