Default Red antifreeze

89 l6 gets hot after a while driving it around town. My antifreeze is red inside the reservoir. Why would it be red? I imagine I need to flush the system soon. My heater sucks too.

How dirty is it? If it's clean, but just dyed red, someone put DeathCool in it. I'd flush it and refill with old-school green.

It's pretty gross. I'd like to figure out why it's getting hot anyways. I think flushing the rad and the core would help a ton.

It's going to start raining frogs pretty soon by the looks of that coolant.

Yea it's nasty. I'll flush it before I drive it again. I have owned it for 5 years now and I've never once put anything red in it. I was just curious if it were something gnarly bad.

What does your tranny fluid look like? Could be an internal leak from the radiator/trans cooler? My puter is slow, and the pics aren't coming up for me.....RR

Tranny is still solid. It's not chunky or anything. Just red ha. And what could be rusting?
