reciever mounting?

Default reciever mounting?

got a hitch from the seller it was on a 99 he had there,wouldnt mount it but threw it in for nothing. now what do i need to do?

Dude, you can't do a post like: "Got a hitch. Now what do I do" and expect to have somebody on here know how to help you with your problem. There are a million different kinds of mounting set ups for tow hitches for the 17 different year models of the XJ. How about some pictures. Maybe a little bit more information.

ok sorry, dont have a camera so ill try to explain it a little.hitch mounts flat to the botttom of the unibody rails, seems to be that the pass. side rail has threaded inserts or somthing, the driver side dosent seem to? hope that makes some sort of sense. thanks

You need nutstrips for the drivers side pass side already has one because of heat shield for tailpipe. Order from dealer, make your own or JCR offroad makes them too.

What I did was super glued the nut to a long screwdriver and put it in the opening , ran the bolt in and popped the driver off. Worked for me. Use cheap super glue so it pops off easily.
