Rebuilt engine no start

Non-interference- no worries there.
Its no easy to check the cam and crank gears- you have to take the alternator bracket off and the harmonic balancer and drop the oil pan. That's why I would have the shop that did the rebuild come look at it first.

IT RUNS!!!
First, thanks for all you ideas, I was following them and checking everything along those same lines. Here is what was going on.
I have read tons of descriptions of how the distributor-less ignition worked and believed that the cam position sensor and synchronizer could only be installed 2 ways and that there was no adjustment...period...in regards to timing. So, I ignored that as a possibility. As it turns out, thanks to the old school knowledge of a good friend, that notion was wrong.
While cranking the engine, my buddy made small adjustments to the cam position sensor. Bam...we have ignition! A little fine tuning and it runs like a champ.
Thanks again for all of your thoughts and ideas. They certainly got us thinking and helped us get to the right fix.
