Rear wiper/washer
First off I did search
Just bought the Jeep Monday it's a 90 4.0
Everything works fine on the Jeep, only problem I am having is the rear washer, wiper works fine but I have no spray. I can hear the pump running when I hit the rocker but nothing. Now that leads me to think it's in the hose.
Anyone know how the hose is routed? Or where I should look for potential problems within the system
Thanks in advance
Marty

my jeep has no wiper, or spray, not even a switch for it, Im envious haha. If you hear the pump kick on. id take the panel off the back gate and trace the hose... goodluck

I had the same problem. Took the panel off and the hose wasn't connect. Haven't actually tried it again since I hooked it back up, but if that wasn't the only problem, it sure is one that would have caused it. The switch in the hatch for the dome was all rusted up, so it probably was just leaking all the fluid down the inside of the hatch.

Also check for connection on the outside. Where it comes out of the hatch and where it attaches by the wiper blade. Also check for hole in the tubing. I've had it where it wore a hole and also when it popped off the post coming out of the hatch. Be careful on that post, it can be brittle.

Rear wiper/washer
I have had the same issue with the rear washer not working. The pump was humming so I disconnected hose at wiper, still nothing. I took rear panel off of door and disconnected hose from wiper feed. Very little water flow discovered. Took apart at valve (still in rear door) and presto! Lots of water. Cleaned out the valve and connected everything back up to discover the hose in the wiper does have a rip in it. Does a great job of washing a tailgater's front window! I am running to store now to get some tubing. I'm just stoked I found the problem to be nothing more than clogged or ripped tubing/hose.
