So I've managed to track down all the pieces I need to get my rear wiper back and running (bezel, bezel gasket, wiper arm). My question is do I need to take the door panel off to remove the bezel from the hose, or will the bezel pull out far enough to swap it without removing the panel? '96 Sport.

I have a '99, should be the same. I just replaced my whole motor assembly on mine this week.
Yes, you have to remove the panel. Otherwise you risk snapping the hose connector from the inside... how do I know that.... plus it's very difficult to reconnect as it's an elbow on the inside of the liftgate.
It's real easy once you get the panel off. Invest in a panel puller from Pep Boys, or AutoZone for $6. Makes damage less likely.
If you happen to break the hose to bezel connector, let me know. I have a simple fix for it that I came up with that works great.
Good luck.
