I am in the middle of changing the rear bearings on my 1989 Cherokee. After removing the axle shaft I am not sure if I need to replace the inner seal. (I think I do). when I pulled the axle out there was a small rubber ring loose on the shaft on the inside side of the safety ring. (1st pic). Is this part of the inner seal? also to replace the inner seal, what do I need to pull out?
I already have a new outer seal and bearing. I will have a shop press them on for me. I am just trying to figure out if i need to replace the inner seal and how to do it. Thanks in advance for the help.
Does anybody have a part number for the inner seal?

Thanks for the info. The number on the seal is "CR 13571" The rubber piece in pic 1 is the inside of this seal.

I think I have the one i need. Also I read somewhere that the seal needs to be pushed in a certain distance. Is this true? Is it possible to get it in there too far or not far enough?
