Default rear sway bar

I'm putting in a 4.5 lift. The stock rear sway bar is kinda wimpy. Is it needed? It is a Rustys 4.5 spring pack and the instructions dont say anything about it. Their web site shows an XJ getting the lift but they show the sway bar removed. The guy helping me is a hard core off roader and he says trash it. I'm more of a pavement guy that wants a good riding rig. What should I do?

BTW...Rustys said this was a 4 hour job in the driveway......HA!..removing 24 year old bolts aint easy. I haven't broke a bolt yet but my beaker bar is taxed.
