Default Rear shock mounts body side

Has anyone that encountered the common problem with broken shock mount screws on the rear shock mounts ended up welding something in place to get rid of the issue? Or done something else to fix it?

When this happened to me, I noticed that a P.O. had already (poorly) welded nuts to the bottom. Being there was plenty of metal there, I drilled and tapped in some SAE 1/4" threads and secured the shocks with Grade 8 hardware. So far it's held up nicely.

Yeah I could not get the bolts out no matter how I went after them, so I drilled and tapped new holes and secured everything with hardened bolts, just don't know how well it will hold up long term and I don't want to end up ripping up the sheet metal. I ordered zone off road bar eliminators, I may just weld those suckers up and call it good.

I'm gonna try the RC flag nut kit first. Just have to hope to air chisel the rusted bolts out. Worst case I use the holes I drilled in the sheet metal and secure with the flag nuts
