Default Rear shock?

Hi I just got this Cherokee in a trade and was wondering do the rear shocks have to be the same length? I measured from mount to mount and I was pulling 26 1/2" for the driver and 25 for the pass side. Help I'm lost

Same length for both sides. Sounds like you have sagging springs, or broken leaf

They should be the same, leaf springs on one side are probably a little flater than the other side or a shock could be bad measure from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender on each side if their different its leaf springs

Ok so I measured like u said and it's the same on both sides. The rear is tilted I guess to make it easier for the driveshaft to spin. So I was looking at the mounts for the shock on the rear driver side seems to be lower then the pass so does that mean I have to cut that mount off n re-weld it on to make em even or can I run the shocks at two lengths or one length n make em fit ?

I wouldn't do a thing to em,your shocks will work fine only thing that would make a difference is if one wheel was off the ground it will have just a little more downward travel(good thing) should ride just fine

There are no shocks on it right now so I don't know what size to go with

Thats a pretty big lift,a stock cherokee is supposed to be about 17'' from the center of the wheel to the bottom of your fender flare(if you have any),so if that measurement is 20'' you have 3'' of lift,if its 21'' you got 4''s of lift and so on

Not bad, stick with hydro shocks. BDS, OME, skyjackers arent bad

the rear axle is probably rotated up to help with driveline angles with that big of lift. since the rear axle has the driver side mount on the back of the axle and the pass side on the front of the axle, the lengths will be different.
