rear shackle help

Default rear shackle help

im trying to remove my rear shackles from my jeep cherokee 97 most likly orignal stock shackle. the left side weld holding the nut broke free so its free spinning. i dropped the gas tank and cut a small hole so i can fit a socket but no socket will clear the other little hole inside the frame and i cant fit any socket on their. bin kicking my *** all day any help ideas would be mutch apprictiated

CUT THE BOLT OFF. The remove everthing and fix the boken weld nut.

remover rear bumper there are holes in the back you maybe able to enlarge to get at it

yea i did that still can.t fit a socket over that nut theirs a small hole slightly smaller then the size of the nut so the socket dont make it past

i also incountered this problem yesterday but with the front leaf spring bolts. i am in the process of cutting out a piece underneith the nut to fit a open end wrench up to hold the nut

i got the one by dropping the gas tank and cut a small hole into the frame. then used an air hammer to push the bolt out of the rubber bushing and reused the stock weldid nut.i cut the other side off becouse the weld broke off the nut and it was free spinning after a few saw zaw blades i made it thru the collar and the bolt. the new shackles came with new bolts and nuts witch then i could fit with a socket. thanks for all your help. job done! o btw i folded the cuts i made then weldid a small plate over all.
