Default 1997 Cherokee help

I recently purchased a 1997 Cherokee and I am wondering if the factory transmission will bolt to a Dodge 360 V8? Or will I need to use a different transmission?

I don't believe it will.

even if it did, you couldn't ever get the stock torque converter to work properly with a different motor, and it's electronically controlled...the transmission computer wouldn't know what to do or when to do it. it runs off of the stock ecu as a piggy back system.
