Question Rear Seal Question.

Ok i know that there are plenty of post on this and trust me i think that i read just about every one of them and came up with nothing.

My question is i have a hynes book and it says that there are different types of seals. It says that there is a one piece seal and if thats the care you have to pull the trans. to replace it. But the book dosnt say what models it is that has this one piece seal. I have looked online and on all the forums and cant find anything. I dont want to get into the oil pan and find out that its a one piece. Also i have one more question....one the oil pan there are bolts that go up and there are bolts that hang down with a nut on them. Do I have to take the nuts off those to get the oil pan off??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just for the info I have a 1993 XJ 4x4.

Those are just studs to connect wires to, they will come out like the rest of the bolts.

Yes, the 2.5 has a one piece seal and the 4.0 has a two piece. As for the bolts that hang down with the nuts (called studs), they will come out with the nuts when you loosen them.
