rear main seal
can someone tell me if i need to drop the oil pan or not. im trying to get around it now. i was going to rebuild but my sis was in a car crash and i dropped everything and pay for meds and all and not im striped for cash and my rear main deal it losing about 1/4 of a q every time i crank it over.

oil pan
you need to drop the pan to get to the rear main and you can sneak it out so you dont have to drop the trans you have to drop the crank make sure you torque it to the right specs i beleave its 90ft ib of torque.

You don't have to drop anything but the oil pan to chance the rear main. Once that is dropped you are going to remove the rear main bearing assembly and that's about it. Real easy to do just messy.
