Remember you are trying to go around also as u tap . if you feel the metal in the seal go ahead and hit it, it may be hard to get it started but it will spin

The lower seal was STUCK on there and I could easily get to that one so I know the upper on has to be like cemented to it. Should I try the sneaky pete thing or what ever it was that guy posted about earlier in the thread??

Indeed. Not good. Have you tried both sides trying to rock it side to side? It's probably burnt to the block. You want it to come out in one piece. Don't know why its bein a beast. Mine came out farely easy...

Ive done tons of them, not just on jeeps. Some are easy and some were a pain. You can just be baby tapping it. Can u see the metal inside the old one up there yet? i have always used a small flat screw driver and a blue shop rag to drag it out once it starts.

If you stay on that metal u will be ok. it runs the lenght of the seal. Just get a good solid hit on it, rember its not like driving a nail. It is a half moon around a shft so it is gonna want to rotate some at the same time.
Where are u located?

Maybe try to get ahold of the metal ring with some vise grips and pull it out.
