I have the oil pan and pump out. Do I need to remove the rib cage looking thing that runs along the crank shaft?It goes from front to back.Thanks for the help.Sorry if this is a dumb question. I think it should come out but wanted to make sure before I remove it.

Thanks. I got it all out ,now I just need to get the new seal and put it back together.This isn't a hard job to do really and it's kinda easy. I don't know why anyone would pay a shop to do it.Getting the mud off the bolts was the most time consumming.

 

Yeah I know I did mine a couple weeks ago I was surprised how easy it was the biggest pain for me was getting the oil pan gasket to stay in place when putting it back together.
