Default Rear Leaf Springs

Hello Forum! 98 Sport 4.0 2wd. My leaf springs are sagging and I want to replace. I'd like to go to the salvage yard and pick me up some cheap. My question is what years of cherokees are compatible? Id like to get them off the newest model year i can find. But I will get new bushings.

Thanks for any help!

Pretty sure everything 1984 - 2000 is the same with the leaf springs.

Thanks! What are some things I should look for on the salvage yard springs to tell if they are still good or not?

That part I can't really help you with. Unfortunately I have almost no salvage yard experience as the place I live does not have salvage yards close by so I have never actually been to one in relation to my Jeep.

However, I remember somewhere in some other post about a similar thing. It was mentioned that you should look for leaf springs that are still on the vehicle so you can get a look at them while they are still under normal load.

If I were you I'd find the leafs I want, spray down the bolts with PB Blaster, them come back the next day to get them.

Consider airbags if you're not going to lift it. You can raise or lower the psi to correct sag. If you're towing, add more, etc.

I think Cherokee kits are about $150. I didn't look for a good price, just showing you the product.
