Rear hatch wont lock but doors will??

Default Rear hatch wont lock but doors will??

what could be the problem? the doors will lock but the rear hatch wont. it was working fine a few days ago.

ps. MY?
it wont lock. not with the key remote or the panel on the drivers door. it will close and everything but wont lock.

Will it lock or unlock with your keys? Use your keys to lock the trunk and see if it will lock. If it does then you probably have an electrical issue, if it doesn't then you might need a new lock.

my keys dont work cus i got a new hatch from the junk yard. i still have my old hatch with the lock that works with my keys. should i just switch the two out?

the actuator in side the hatch is not working or the linkage needs lubricated got to get hatch open to do any thing

i have a 99' with the same problem, but mine is most likely do to the fact that the wires coming from the headliner into the rear hatch were somehow cut...

dude you are pro i must say. so my old hatch HAD a actuator but my new hatch DIDNT have one at all. so i just took the old and put it into the new and it locked now. i just gotta swap out the handle with the keylock in it cus my key doesnt work due to the fact i got it at a junkyard.

yeah it was. just had to unplug it and then plug it into the new hatch and connect arm to locking mechanism and screw in. it was easy. i took the old handle with the key off the old rear hatch. idk what it is called. but i an planning on installing that tomorrow so my key with unlock my hatch in case electrical fails.
