FINALLY got through to the manager again... made another appointment for them to basically slap it in/silicone around the edges and drive away.... whatever...

A different guy showed up, real professional... did a great job... He used a universal gasket ... looks factory stock.
I had the inner trim off and cleaned up the outside mounting area / where the window goes..... He was happy about that.

So what did we learn here?

Don't drop your boat on the back window....
and
A universal gasket WILL work, If you have an experienced installer that takes pride in his work.
Heres a few garage cam pics....
the wife came out and gave him a $20 and a reach around.
everyone was happy.

man I’m desperate. Same situation.. kinda. Long story short..I had my boat hooked up to my suburban. Jeep was parked behind the boat. I was backing my suburban and boat up and the engine of my boat smashed my hatch in. Got a new hatch got the body shop to match the paint etc. body shop calls me and told me they don’t make that rubber piece anymore!!!! WTF. I did research for a week and found your post. Hell me out dude. What is the part number for that rubber or can you tell me where they found that rubber piece?? Thank u in advance

I don't think OP can help, it was sourced, quite properly, by his glass replacement company, just as yours should be by your bodyshop.

These seals haven't been available for years, as everybody in the trade must know &, therefore, where to obtain the universal one.

The second guy that came and fixed it used a generic rubber gasket.... He had a huge roll of it in the back of his van.... He just cut it to fit and made it work.... I'm sure experience and talent was key.

Print out my pictures and hit up a Safelight glass or another quality company.... Talk to the manager and explain the deal.... they probably have seen this before.

Absolutely - & that's exactly what this useless bodyshop should've done right at the outset, not try to palm off their problem on the customer.
