I have not had one leak before but did see one the other day that was duct taped all the way around. Get some weather stripping adhesive and put it the groove that attaches to the metal, that should stop it. The window comes out pretty easy with a couple of flat tip screw drivers.

The 84-96 rear hatch glass has the rubber seal installed on the glass and then installed into the hatch. It is common for the seal to seperate from the hatch and cause leaks. There are two things to check, both on the top edge of the rubber seal.

First check the inside top edge of the seal. They have have a habit of coming undone and pulling away from the body. It will look like it is rolled under a little.

You can take a flat screwdriver and carefully, I repeat carefully run it along the seal to pull it back in place.

Slowly work it along the entire length of the seal.

If the seal has not rolled under then simply push on it to seal if it has slipped a little. My 87 and my 91 rolled under and leaked, and my 89 had slipped and was leaking. Just the simple task of pushing them back in place stopped the leaks.
