Default Rear ended

My '87 Laredo got rear ended, ruined the rear hatch/door, which seems to be made of fiberglass. When I go to the junkyard for another one, how do I disconnect the wiring and hoses that come down through the top corners? Is there a "clean" way to disconnect all this stuff, or is it all hack and splice?

You have to remove interior panels, and follow the wiring. There are milti-pin plugs that can be disconnected, and I believe a hose splice that can be disconnected as well. If you need to, you can always cut the hose, and put it back together with a barbed fitting. Remove the boot that is on the body at the top of the jamb, and it comes out with the harness. It is a fairly easy job, just a little time consuming, if you dont want to cut and splice wires.

OK, removed most of the interior moulding, the hose looks pretty straightforward, the electric bits in the LR corner, not so much... But I do have an new rear door/hatch, whatever, ready to go in, soon as I can puzzle this wiring.

In other news, an afternoon of pulling and cleaning fuzes, relays and various connections, have restored the digital clock and the A/C. The wipers and turn sigs still don't work, the stalk on the column feels busted.

Got me a Chilton Jeep manual (40602), pretty useless. Chassis electrical, windshield wipers, explains how to change a wiper blade. Hmm... Actual switch under "Suspension and Steering", 'nother bloody torx screw job.

Any opinions on Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks?
