popping is very normal with any lunchbox locker. my buddys does it all the time and its loud. so that normal especially getting on the throttle.
the pulling to left and right. you sure its not out of alignment? a rear locker will let you know when you are out of alignment because both tires will have the power.

when i first had the locker in it wouldn't pull either way and was working great, but i was off by a couple thousandths cuz i took the whole carrier out and it was howling, i had the ring and pinion put in to exact measurements by a shop cuz i was off by a couple thousandths and thats when it started doing this weird pulling to the left hard when i give it gas...
thats the first thing i checked when i got home with it

im taking it over there today. they were closed when i got off work yesterday and couldn't take it. i contacted aussie and they said that the tires have to be within 3/8 of each other tread wise or it will pull either way. im getting it measured at discount here in a few minutes because two are a tad worn more but i can barely tell so we will see.
rear end shop is closed today so will take it in thursday. doesn't make sense why its over heating. probably too tight...

the mechanic said it didn't have any backlash. he thought the locker was the backlash because it moves back and forth. I will be going to pick it up later today and see how she's doing.

picked it up, it had no backlash at all. he thought since the locker moved side to side that was the backlash. got it fixed, it runs alot! better. it still pushes it to the left a little when i give it gas but once it starts going it will even out. idk what that is but oh well.

From what I can tell You and your Dad did the ausie install and had a shop reset the Ring and Pinion. The shop fixed the RP backlash issue. You still have pulling. Correct?
You had 2 seperate issues, 1 has been fixed. If your tires are within spec, then I would say the Aussie needs to have the shims adjusted. You need to pull the cover again and do the measurement as per the Aussie instructions. DO NOT remove the carrier to work on the Aussie.

sorry to bring up an old thread but my rear end is pushing my Jeep to the right now....it goes straight while coasting but when given gas/torque it pushes to the right alot. pull the cover and take a look? seems like the left tire has all the power, but in dirt both spin still. hmmmm, aussie locker in chryco 8.25. How do you go about adjusting the locker with shims?

Don't know what you mean by pushing to the right or left. I run Detroits in my rigs and they all will do a little push when getting on the gas in a corner because both tires are driving it to go strait.

if i am not holding onto the steering wheel be it at 0 or 60 and i give it gas the whole jeep will take off to the right. i just got an alignment done. They said its the locker in the rear end, its not putting equal pressure on both axles. More power to the left tire will push it to the right correct? i'm not going around a corner. driving straight
