i need to do a wheel cyl on my heep. figured since it will be apart i should replace the shoes and maybe even get a hardware kit. u know since im in there, so anyway i go to the store and they ask if its 9" or 10"... ??? i have no clue. r they talkin bout the size of the drum? is it dependant on which axle? ie d35= 9" and 8.25=10"

 

Hi, if it has cooling fins on the drum its a 10 inch otherwise its 9. 10's usually came with the police or tow package...Tj
PS 10's are longer but 9's are wider..

 

my d44 has finned 10"
my d35 has smooth 9"

not sure on the 8.25 tho.

 

9" drume the shoes are 2.5in wide and 10" are 1.75in wide. I have an 8.25 axle and have 9in brakes. So its not dependent on the axle.
