Default Rear brake drums hanging

I just replaced both my rear brake cylinders and put new shoes on my star adjuster is all the way in and my brake are rubbing/hanging to the point I can't drive without them putting a good load on my jeep and smoking. Also checked the part number for them and there the right size. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening. Even after bleeding them a good bit there not working for crap just hanging like there to big. They match the size of the old ones just more shoes material. I'm at a loss on this one. Any help is appreciated thanks

2 things to double check - Correct part number for shoes and cylinders. And make sure you put the brake shoes facing the correct way (one side is different than the other).

Also make sure the hardware is on correctly and that the parking brake and center bar are not pushing out the shoes.

Did you happen to take pictures prior to disassembly?

Also, what year and model Jeep is it?

And you are sure the star pin is closed all the way and not open all the way instead?

So when you take off the drums, are they tight going on and off? If you have the right parts, and all the hardware is sitting correctly, the drum should easily slide on. Then you put on the wheel and adjust the star nut to get resistance/drag from the brake shoes. If your shoes are that tight, I don't see how you got the drum back on unless you hammered it into place (which you shouldn't do).

I had to change the axle bearings, so decided to do the drum brakes too. Sweet and easy without the axle there. That was my before picture for reference.
