Default Real Technical Question

I'm putting together a tool kit for a road trip. Is my 2001 Cherokee all metric regarding wrench sizes. Seems like my last few American vehicles were a mix of SAE and metric.

I have an 01 - and from what I've fixed, it seems like they sort of just wantonly switch between metric and standard nuts and bolts. I keep one of those cheap wal-mart "automotive tool kits" in my trunk, and I've yet to be in a situation where something in there didn't cover it.
Also I know it's generally a sin and not for everyday repair, but if it's for times when you're in a bind and on the road, a crescent wrench can do a whole lot.

Jack, lug wrench, spare tire, jumper cables, recovery straps, an extra quart of oil (if you're a leaker like most of us), and a variety of different wrenches

XJs are a variety of SAE and metric. You can barely count on them even being hex heads, either. There are a few torx, inverse torx, and 12-point in there as well.

Yup, I just keep metric and use it on both...inverte torx are a PITA to find, torx suck...Idk why they didnt just use SAE 6 points.
