Just wondering what this could be...
When I hit a pot hole with the front passenger tire there is a rattling noise. I think the best way to describe it is that its sounds like there is no shock there.
It only happens when the tire has to drop down, like into pot holes. Everything feels and sound fine when I hit vertical bumps, like speed bumps.
I am just wondering what I could check. I am pretty sure that the shocks are fine, but haven't pull it off to check for sure. Also I am thinking it might be the spring.
The shocks are rancho and are about 4 years old and the springs are the original ones.

they eliminate the clunking thats caused when shocks work there way off of the bushings on the oem bar pin design. they compress a bushing inside your shocks eye so that it works better and will not shimmy its way off. many also lengthen your shock mounts, allowing the use of shorter shocks with a larger amount of lift

I installed BPE's a few days ago and I think the shock bushing are on their last leg. They are rancho shocks and the bushings are just a chunk of rubber. If I replace them, how do you get the old bushing out to replace them with polyurethane (sp?) ones.
Or would it be easier just to wait till I lift it and replace the shocks?
