Default rattle when moving from stop

When I start moving from a dead stop, or very near, I get a small rattle from what seems to be near the transmission, t-case, or driveshaft area.

Any ideas?

(im new to cherokees, so go easy on me)

1. Please fill out your profile.

2. Do you have an auto or 5 speed?

If its a 5 speed it could be clutch chatter.

Do you also hear it when hitting big bumps? If so then check the muffler to TC cross member. My hanger near the TC broke and it was very similar to what you described.

it is your t-case shifter linkage. you can purchase new bushings from the stealership.
