Default Random stall... Help

I purchased a 91 laredo 4.0, auto about 2 months ago. Havent done much driving because its not insured. I do however occasionally drive it, I put a little over 150 miles on it then yesterday it stalled while I was driving down the hiway. Tach dropped to zero and it was dead, not sputter or nothin. all the lights and everything were still on also. I put it in neutral and cranked it. It turned over for a solid 8 seconds before it started but once it did it was fine.. It did it twice on a 10 min drive. I havent started troubleshooting yet just wondering if anyone had some insite? Anything helps
Thanks -Tyler

I wont be back on the computer til 3am to awnser any ?'s

Run a meter on the "crankshaft position sensor". There is a write up on how to do the test and also how to replace it. I just replaced mine yesterday, it's a real bear to get to when you replace it but to do the test is fairly simple, just unplug, insert the meter leads and read the scale.

Well I plan on replacing all the common issue parts such as the ball joints and some of the sensors so I may just go ahead and replace it. Thanks for the quick response.

it cost about 31 dollars at "autovalue" but you can get it even cheaper online.
