I know this question has been pasted around on all the forums a thousand times but I have yet to come across anyone that is having the same problem as I am.
Fresh Tune up. Good fuel filter. Fuel pump is priming and working. My fuel pump is hard wired to a kill switch so that I can turn just the fuel pump on without the key. Push button start. In the last few months it has not been starting randomly off and on. When it doesn't start I turn off the key and the fuel pump, pop the hood, and then move all of my injectors back and forth a little. There is fuel pressure at the rail and I have a good spark. Ballast resistor is good. CTS is new and good.
If I mess with the CPS Connector at the MAP sensor and unplug the vacuum line there then move the injectors a little and put everything back together it will kick over and then runs fine for the rest of the day. Next morning, 50/50 chance of it starting. If it doesn't, mess with said injectors and vacuum lines and it will kick right over. It seems like it could be a CPS half the time but that doesn't account for the fact that once its running and warmed up I have zero issues at that point. Any other ideas before I start throwing unnecessary moneys at this thing?
Oh - 88 XJ, 4.0, Renix, AW4.
