I have a 88 xj 4.0 with the renix system and it will randomly start misfiring... The first day it did it I could move the tps without any change to idle or anything so I changed the tps with no results... When it starts misfiring I can turn my jeep off for a little bit and it will run like nothing was wrong... I would really appreciate any help

 

Any idea on we're to start?

 

spark plugs
plug wires
cap and rotor

a misfire is going to be due to lack of spark. Start with these areas.

 

If it was any of these wouldn't it happen on a regular basis?

 

Not always, especially if it just started reacently.

 

Ok cool... Guess ill change them and see if that will help... I was worried of a bigger issue thank you
