It was probably because you left her to be with you girl friend and your Jeep got jealous.
You might want to check all of your grounding points. I would get the alternator checked out along with a load test on the battery.

Isn't there a started relay thing right next to the battery?
I know on my 90 there is and one day at a bank drive through a wire apparently broke and mine would not start I rigged the wire up on the connector and it fired right up. That relay could possibly be bad.

From time to time I take a pocket knife (gently), to the insides of the clamps, and make sure the post is clean shiny lead. If it is not shiny, I don't trust it.
That thin, hard crust is an amazing insulator.

Below is a photo of my + post,
2awg to winch
4-6 awg to starter
2 awg for my aux fuse box
2 awg for my alt
Other wires for my fans, headlights
Now that said the starter wire slid out of the bottom of the terminal...
It was unseen for all the big wires on top! So sad... Also I knocked some of the crud off and cleaned the + term and fired right up!!!!

Hey great...glad you got'r. I've used those, "for emergency road repair", terminal clamps myself, but generally not for other people. The battery gasses get right after those "open" connections. Then I guess you know what happens next......

I like the marine posts when I need to make multiple connections at the battery post.
I use eyelet/ring connectors on the cable ends. Then stack 'em on the post and tighten the wing nut. If your against using a wing nut you can always replace it with another of your liking.
