Default rain idling issue

Hello,

my 2001 xj is idling erratically after heavy rain. rpms jumping up as if im giving gas in park. in drive its shifting normal but rpms are jumpy at idle. drove it about ten miles and it went back to normal. i also had a rough start after rain the other day. as if it was barely getting enough to turn over. it started but had reset as if i had disconnected the battery. no check engine right now but air bag light is on. i have the horn relay disconnected to bypass my bad clock spring. this was causing me issues with my TPS.

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/thr...-issue-183678/

has been running well other than after rain. i know i need to replace my clock spring. Does anyone know what else may need replacing? cap rotor wires?

thanks

Sounds like old plug wires or water is getting under the distributor cap.

When was the last time you did a tune up?

How do I diagnose that? Every issue I have seems to come back to the possibility of a bad ground.
