Default Radio and Sig. Lighter Quit Working

does anyone know what happened? i was driving along listening to my after market radio and i plugged in my phone charger and my radio quit on my. here i thought the fuse blew but when opened the door the cab light turned were on and when i checked the fuse it was good. so i went and checked every single fuse under the dash and hood and the one in the radio, all good. my sig lighter don't work either cuz i can stick my finger in there. anyone have this problem before cuz i'm clueless right now.

How did you check the fuses? Reason I ask it a lot of the time people just look at them, but the best and really only way to check them is with a test light. Touching the test light to the top of the fues on both sides to make sure power is getting through the fuse.

It definately sounds like you've blown a fuse somewhere. It is common that the constant 12v supply for the memory of the radio and the lighter are on the same fuse.

The power in the lighter socket will not do anything to your finger (unless maybe you wet it with salt water first).

i took all the fuses out and looked at them but i could of over looked one and never of realized that one was blown. but using a volt meter and setting it for continuity should do the same as a light bulb test right?

I think you'd be better off using the VDC setting. Ground the black lead and test both sides of the fuse with the red. You'd do that with the fuse in circuit and the key on. If you use continuity I'd remove the fuse to test it. I've seen fuses test good with continuity but then not conduct with load applied.
