Radio change problems

I've just taken out the factory fitted tape player out of my 2.5 diesel XJ and replaced it with a JVC CD player. The CD player is great but somewhere along the way I have lost my remote central locking, my overhead console lights and all of my needle gauges. The electronic gauges work fine though. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Thanks.
Might be an exposed wire grounding out from installing the radio that killed your lights. I did that once on accident and it killed my 2000 xj's interior lights and dash. Start with the simple, check your fuses.

Thanks Daven, I have already checked every fuse, even the ones in the engine bay and all is well. I have had a good rummage behind the dash too but cant see anything loose. I do have three wires that are now unused that went into the original radio, but it would seem unlikely that they would have anything to do with the other faults. Maybe I am wrong.....

Is your factory radio AM/FM/Cassette/CD and did it have duel connectors or a single one in the rear? If it is a single connector and you didn't have controls on the steering wheel I would be interested in buying it. Mine broke and the aftermarket Pioneer I have in it I don't like it everything to small.
