The radio (stereo?) in my jeep doesn't have the front thing (its broken and lost) that has the LCD screen and stuff, but it does have that plug that you can plug into a music player. Is there a way I can play music on the speakers without having that front thing? Is there some connections that I can solder together?
The faceplate is the brains of the operation. Its how you control all the various functions of the player, like turning it on. For all you and we know the volume is all the way down, it could be on radio or cd, who knows. You need the faceplate. Maybe its the angle or the lighting but those contacts look like theyve been messed with a bit. They can be a bugger to get right if they were. Delicate, and easy to break. Been there, done that.
Buy a new radio. Or try to find the proper faceplate and hope it works. Pull the head unit out and look for a model number or name.

Not really worth the time and effort when cheap Bluetooth standard 1-DIN size media receivers without CDs are available for as low as $25 on Amazon. For example: https://www.amazon.com/BLAUPUNKT-Ver.../dp/B08L48S32F
Kinda like the retro look of this one. Not sure on specs though.

Also, how would I tell if it has the correct wiring? Or is that a standard thing on car radios?

if you get a radio that is from the same manufacturer it should have the same plug in the back and not need any wiring done. Im sure if you search this site there will be a wiring diagram posted if you need it.
