I've never done a Cherokee but did do our '96 Blazer (fully loaded). Wasn't bad at all. BUT I couldn't have done it without a second pair of hands to help support and finagle the dash at times.
Got to be a you tube video on how to do a Cherokee.

I've read so many threads on it. Some say remove seats, others say not. Some say have beer handy, others say sacrifice an unblemished goat. I would feel better about it if I had a couple of days to work on it, which I never do.

Seats in a Cherokee come out easy giving you plenty of room work. It would have been NICE to have them out of the Blazer! Cruiser54 does say you have to discharge the a/c. With the right person to help I can't see it being that long of a job. But then if you don't feel comfortable trying it don't.
As far as the beer goes there's plenty of time after the job is done. LOL

I only use Aluma-seal brand, mostly because it worked great the first time so I didn't change, take any chances. Also common sense stops me from putting bottles of lumpy, gooey, mush in my system! Just for a pinhole leak in the heater core; Mix 1/2 of the small (3 oz?) tube with water in a soda bottle. Right before a good drive shake it up good and add it to the coolant. Might take a week to work. If it's still leaking after a week add the other half. If you still smell it after a while, forget it, it isn't going to work and you don't want more in there. (the smell can linger a bit after it stops leaking, fogging the windshield) The fine powder can and will settle in areas with less circulation, like back behind #6. One little tube isn't going to hurt anything, but if you add enough, yes, you can make a problem. Three times in Jeeps, (twice in one, years apart), a Subaru, a Volvo, a Tempo and a Celica, that I can remember. The stuff works great, also it's really cheap. Was only $1 for years......

I've seen the Bar's Leak on the shelves. Rabbit pellets in a thick gravy. I guess I've been lucky over all these years and have never needed to use any of the leak stopping products. Obviously per you and DF they work. Just don't over do it? Got the Aluma-Seal just in case. Guess I ought to throw it in the tool box in my XJ. If I don't need it I just might run across someone who does.
