Radiator overflow question
Hey guys! Ive got a 4.0L i6 2001 XJ sport. Quick question... I parked my car today, and all of a sudden it started dumping antifreeze everywhere... I noticed my entire radiator overflow tube, from the pressure cap to the overflow tank is completely missing... But how it's missing i dont really care, i just need to get it fixed. Does anyone know what size or "guage" hose it would be, and where i can find some? Home Depot/walmart dosent have it, and advance and Auto zone told me they dont have the right size for XJs.... I just want to know what size hose it is.

I called and asked, they told me they dont carry any jeep radiator overflow hoses, which seemed very unlikely

Get a hose at the auto supply store with an inside diameter suitable to the stem sticking out sideways from the rad neck under your rad cap, the hose needs to be strong enough for the suction of the rad drawing the fluid back in from the overflow reservoir, other than that it doesn't see any positive pressure of significance when sending fluid to the reservoir. Line suitable for gas line will work as it will resist deterioration from the antifreeze. Really doesn't need to be multi layer as that is more for pressure. Also a line suitable for trans line would work as that is good for pressure and heat. Probable stay away from thin wall see thru line as it may collapse on the draw back as your rad cools.
What do you think of this, seem reasonable?
