I have a 94 cherokee 4x4 and the transfer case is shot. I know I have a 242 but I'm having trouble finding one at the junkyard. I've searched and haven't really found much info. Is there any other jeeps specifically grand cherokees that the tcase will be a direct swap (no swapping input shafts and so on)

He's probably asking about grand Cherokees because there are a lot in his JY.

Those aren't exactly and upgrade from a 242. You can swap in a 231 case though.

 

That's exactly why I was asking lol. I'm looking for a direct swap right now. Its my dd at the moment so id rather not have to worry about driveshafts or swapping internal parts
