Default Quick Side Trim Question

Does anyone have experience pulling off the side trim? Mine is in good condition and I was wondering if it was going to leave adhesive or something behind if I just tried to peel it back. Just looking to get some suggestions before I rip em' off.

Oh yeah, the only hard part was removing 3m weatherstrip adhesive that previous owner used to try and re-attach trim.took some elbow grease!

100th post. WOOT. but anyways, thanks for the input. I was worried people were going to tell me it pulls up paint or something. I will see what happens if I just go for it, whats the worst that could happen???

Using a heat gun is not a good idea unless you have super steady hands. I assume you're throwing the trim away, so no worries if it were to get too hot, but you could damage paint with those really hot heat guns. I've seen people use a standard hair dryer and it just took time.

Have you ever actually seen someone damage their paint?

I haven't. I have have used a heat gun MANY times to pull off decals and trim.

If you held the heat gun in one spot for a long period if time, yes, it will do damage.

But you'll start the trim on fire long before you will do damage to the paint.

It is held on pretty tight yet, I am assuming that adhesive will be left behind when I take it off. What should I use to remove the gunk. btw I hate "Goo Gone".

Try laquor thinner in a safe spot that's not noticeable.

I have used it many times successfully. Use caution though.

Sure, I've used one (heat gun) but all I was stating is that they can get too hot, to be careful. Sometimes you don't realize that the "one spot" has gotten too hot. Didn't say you can't use it.
