Default quick question

How do I keep the wheel with the torque converter bolts from turning when I try and tighten the bolts?

screwdriver as a wedge, just be careful of the teeth. Starters don't like missing teeth

use the blade of the screwdriver to stop it from turning, using the bellhousing and the screwdriver to stop it

3/4" socket on the front pulley bolt. Hold the ratchet/breaker bar with one leg to keep it from turning. If you're a midget, this may not work.

I think there is a place to put a deep well socket, long-wase, between a tooth and something that holds it well enough. Of course Crusier's metod is good, but I didn't break any teeth.

I only broke one tooth. That was when the socket slipped off the crank pulley bolt, the breaker bar hit me in the crotch, and I yelled "ugh" as my mouth hit the flywheel housing.

OUCH! One time under the truck, on a nice solid concrete slab, I hit my head an a sharp shock mount corner, (on a ford truck). I then flinched and slammed my head down onto the afore mentioned concrete! (that old truck, well loaded went to Homer Alaska and ran great for years with it's new rod inserts).

I think the Bendix slamming on there is way more likely to brake a tooth than me pulling on a wrench.

You're right. I've used the flywheel teeth with no problem, but I've got some huge screwdrivers.

BTW, just making up the story about the breaker bar. I woulda said lots worse than "ugh", too.
