Default quick pulley question...with pics

Drivin the heep around today I noticed it making a worse squeak/noise than usual. While looking at it I noticed the pulley to the right of the ac compressor looked loose. My question is is this something I can tighten back up or do I need to replace it? Any help is greatly appreciated

thats your idler pulley. they are less then $20 at the parts store. Just get a new one. The bearings go out often, chineese junk. Easy to replace, crack the nut loose (15mm) then loosen the belt

You could check the bolt. Being that there is only one and it's right there. Probably the bearing though. On my 90 half the job would be simply loosening the belt. Looks like changing the pulley is a snap. BTW, left and right are facing front. Happy trails.

Ok thanks for the replies guys. Got to work on it today but the lower bolt that actually adjusts the tension is being a pita and I can't seem to get it loose without breaking it >

You did loosen the lock nut so you can move the tensioner bolt correct?

This is the idler pulley next to the a/c. Once you get the belt off, just unbolt the idler pulley and replace it. Let me know if you have any other questions.
