QUICK My jeep is stuck on a busy road.
Hey guys,
I was leaving work, and wanted to test out if the 4 wheel drive worked. I put it in 4L, and it ran and said "part time" on the cluster. Then, it stopped. The motor was just revving. I put it back in 2H, and it's not moving, just revving!! I don't know what to do. Please help me, it's stuck on a busy road.
Thanks!

Youre in neutral, **** the transmission in neutral or park and move the 4 wheel drive level back n forth a bit to get it to engage. Once it does go in reverse for a few feet and then forward.

Hahah, yes you did. I did that once on an overhead in the middle of a presentation to management and some new employees. It was great. I was trying to tell them I had the shifts for them to look over......yeah.
But on topic..yeah, your TC is in neutral. On a side note, don't try to run it in 4L on pavement......ever.

One thing to try is crawling under it while someone moves the controls in the cabin. See if everything is connected as TJ suggested. TJ has a great eye for most things of this nature and can be depended upon.

Just got it back home.
You guys are awesome!!
That's exactly what happened, the linkage cable thingy got disconnected. I got it connected and it engaged back in 2 wheel drive. Thank you guys so much for the fast replies!! I won't ever touch that lever again. LOL!

But the lever is there for you to use. Just don't do it on pavement and make sure the linkage doesnt fall apart again
