If I could get a picture I would
I posted this at the end of a different thread but decided to make my own about it.
I took my IAC out and cleaned it today (yesterday technically) and was going to go ahead and take the throttle body apart and give it a good cleaning, its pretty gunked up. I was stopped in my tracks by the giant torx bit screws that are on there....time to buy more tools I guess.
Anyway the engine started smoking some because of some over spray of pb blaster or carb cleaner...at first I thought I broke something by revving it up to get some of the carb cleaner past the butterfly valve so I started looking for the source of the smoke.
I crawled under the front and looked up in the general direction of where the smoke was coming from. I saw something I couldnt figure out and still has me puzzled/worried. It looks like a part of the exhaust sticking out from the exhaust manifold area. Its just an open metal tube about 2 inches across and sticking out from the engine by about 2 inches or so. It just sitting there, open looking like something is suppose to attatch to it.
If I could get my camera up in there to get a picture I would but everything being in the way from the bottom and there is no way to get a look at it from the top. Wish I could put a picture up here for ya.
Anyway, any idea what this could be....bad news? normal? easy fix?
Any imput is appriciated
Thanks!

No problem, Just confusion as to what that thing was. Its the cold start ... aparently there is suppose to be a hose connecting that piece from the engine to the intake behind the headlight.
