Default Questions about some new wheels

Im tired of my old stock jeep wheels..looking into some procomp crawler wheels. Im sure with my 88 xj being on stock rims that they are 15x8 with a 5 on 4.5 pattern correct? Also im not familiar with backspacing...the procomps im looking at have a 3.75 backspacing..what does this mean?

I believe stock is 15X7, 5X4.5, 5.25" backspace.

This should help with figuring backspacing.

Alright that makes sense...I still thought that the stock wheels I have are 15x8...opinions on the craggers 15x8 d windows vs the procomp crawler?? They are both same price range

Take measurements and do the math. It may be a non-issue, but those numbers will move each wheel farther out by 2 1/2" vs stock.

So...the less back spacing the more the wheel will stick out...correct? For example a wheel with 3 inches of back spacing will stick out 2 inches further than one with 5 inches back spacing

The craggers have 4 inch back spacing which is good...I dont want them sticking out...as far as width should I go 15x7 or 8...I plan on running 30 or 31s soon!!

Stock wheels are 15x7 and will work fine with 30x9.50s. Some guys run 10.50s on 'em.

I'd almost be willing bet that after buying 7", most folks wished they had bought 8".

Spacers will reduce wheel stud strength. Not recommended. Just get the correct backspacing.

I have 3.75 on mine with 31x1050's. Here's the Coffee Commander:
