Default Questions about Rough Country Lift

Okay guys so I was looking at Rough Country lift pieces parts, today. My current control arm set up is stockers up top and 4.5" lift solids down low with a 1.5" BB added. I've actually been looking at the new X Flex control arms since they hit the street. I even talked with Grimmus about getting a deal on a set.
My questions are:

1.) What benefit would I gain by installing a set of the Rough Country control arm drop brackets?
2.) Do these things get hung up easily while off road?
3.) At 6" will I be better off with just the X Flex CAs or should I get the drop brackets, too?

1) Drops the control arms down closer to stock angles with 4"+ of lift
2) Not sure haven't used em but you should be fine unless you do some extreme rock crawling and then IMHO you need long arms for that.
3) At 6" get the XFlex arms and drop brackets or go Long Arm or you CA angles will suck. IMO it could also cause binding and drvability issues but that's just an opinion not from experience. I am sure someone with more experience will chime in.

My plans are RC Drop brackets with upper and lower XFlex CA's. Fit's what I do and will improve road manors. If I did rock crawling I would go Long Arms.

Does Rough Country offer a Long Arm Kit? I have looked at the Rusty's long arm kit off and on for a couple of years but, it's VERY expensive and I have mixed feelings about the quality of Rusty's stuff and their VERY expensive shipping costs.

rough country doesnt make any longarms for the XJ. if your hell bent on only using RC stuff, then get the flex arms with drop brackets.

As far as I know RC does not make a long arm kit. RE makes a nice long arm kit but it's lie $2000 or so.. There are other options and you might contact Jason at jeepinoutfitters.com and see what he has to offer and some prices. IMHO if you aren't planning any extreme rock crawling short arms with drop brackets should be fine. Long Arms no matter what will cost more then short arms so if price is an issues go short arms with drop brackets. I am sure even some rock crawling should be fine but can't say from experience..You could always add some skids to the bottom of the brackets to help with protecting them.

Yeah, that is what I thought. I really don't need long arms for what I do. I have 32s, now. I'm already planning for 33s (hense the longer adjustable control arms) and I will never go bigger than 35s on this XJ. It is my work rig and I can't get to radical with it. Sometimes my work has me driving to other states (to 4wheel in my offtime, of course).

Just get a full set of UCA and LCA flex arms and drop brackets. Then weld some skids to the bottom of the brackets and call it a day.

No prob..I am going the same route for the very same reasons. I don't do rocks..Just not my thing. I love trails and rugged terrain just not rocks. So for me drop brackets will do just what I need.
