I have 2 55w "supersport" p.o.s. lights on the push bar now. They came with the wiring, switch, and a fuse. So I replaced the bulbs with 100w, now they don't light up from the switch, only from the battery direct. What am I doing wrong?

anytime you upgrade the bulbs like that you will need to upgrade the wiring to as the wiring that comes with the kit most of the time can not handle the current. also get the appropriate fuse for the bulbs. did they come with a relay? or just the cheap bullet inline fuse(white fuse bulb thing)?

cheap inline, they were 40 bucks for the 2 lol, yeah nvm anyway the switch went bad. Thanks though. BTW the wires are all 16g and i found a chart that says they can handle the amperage. I changed the fuse out to a 25.

if u look under the steering wheel in the fuse pannel, there should be 2 auxilary slots...i pluged mine in there....makes for less wires an looks cleaner..plus gaurantee that they turn off when u take ur key out
get rid of that switch--- It's not designed to take the load you're putting on it.
Get a relay-- it will probalby solve your problem. Pepe boys sells wiring kits for offroad lights with the wires, switch, and relay.

just changing the fuse to higher rating is not a good idea, your wire now has become the fuse.

ive never heard it been explained so amazingly before in my life!lighting is my things so i think you should defiantly put it on a relay and a 15 amp fuse. or if you want to get freaky wire them in so they come on automatically with your high beams or just your lows depending on what your local law is!

agreed. when you get your relay you can take your lead off the high beam/low beam wire in the light harness. that is how i have mine, i can get the color of the wires and the spot where i spliced in at. The switch is always in the on position, however unless i flip my lights to high beams they will not come on. (i run HID lights and hardly switch to high beams on the road so i do not worry about it, and if i do i turn the switches off for my roof lights)

Its on the battery and it has its own switch, the fuse is at a 20. Can't use a 15 because the lights draw roughly 16.8 amps. They work fine now. They work fine now.
