96 Cherokee 4.0, 5 speed. Cat was clogged last year so I cut it off so my Jeep has a code from where I have no cat, no biggie, it's always there. Well yesterday I go to the store and when I start it up it hardly climbs to an idle around 700 sounds like it was missing and once it hits idle it ran fine. Also when I turned it on my CEL wasn't there which is odd because I have no cat and didn't bother to get a dummy 02 sensor so would that mean my ecm is going on the fritz if it's taking away that code? I work on it all the time but idk need some more info before I throw that in there. Thanks

 

The CEL bulb could have simply burnt out. Hook up a scanner and see.
