Check Engine Code 72
Hey guys noticed my jeep occasionally sputtering out of nowhere. Then my gas mileage went south, lost 100 km to a tank. Then it threw code 72, which is Catylitic converter efficiency. I heard this can be cause by a bad cat or a fouled O2 sensor downstream.
My question is how likely is it being the cat if I had one put on in the last 45000 km? Also if I replace the downstream 02 sensor should I also replace the pre cat one too?
I got underneath and I shook the cat and didn't hear any rattle like I did when I replaced the cat. My exhaust did have a few broken hangers at one point that I welded back up and have been holding since.
