Default Questions about lifting!

I'm new to this forum, and I'm sure that you guys get questions like this all the time. Pardon me if I annoy you with my questions.

I have wanted to put a lift on my 1996 two door cherokee for a while, but I have never really had the extra cash. Well last October, I wrecked my jeep and messed up the fender. My dad and I ordered the needed parts from this jeep place in Florida. Well some how, I ended up with a 120 dollar credit that I didn't know about. I have never wanted some ridiculous lift, but two inches would be nice. I found a budget lift for like, 140$. Also, I have a friend with all the tools necassary for the job. So labor isn't an issue.

Now, my question is, would I see a major decrease in my MPGs with a lift this size? I realize that I might lose a few, but I'm wondering if it will be a substantial loss. Thanks!

A 2 inch lift should not decrease at all

With only a 2" lift you won't notice any decrease, if u put 30s or 31s u may notice a little but only like 1-2 mpg less if that..

Haha ok good. I do plan to put like 31's on it. I just wanted to make sure that it wouldn't kill my MPGs completely. Thanks!

Yeah, I do. If you haven't already picked up from my previous postings, I live with my parents. My Jeep is my primary mode of transportation. Also, I will be attending college next year and will be making a 300 mile drive regulary. So yeah, I'm concerned about my MPGs.

@XJNJ Thanks!

You will lose mpg with the 31" tires. I get about 15, sometimes 16 on my 1999 with 31" and 2" lift
